ABOUT THE STAFF
The nursery has a committed and very experienced staff team. The majority of staff hold level 3 and above in childcare qualifications.
All staff regularly update their knowledge through training. This includes statutory training, such as safeguarding children, food hygiene and paediatric first aid and also training for staff development, which benefits the nursery as a whole. For example, a training workshop on “outdoor provision” taken by two staff, led to improvements in our range of equipment for the nursery garden.
The team has a trained SENCO (Special educational needs and disability coordinator) who works alongside parents and staff to ensure the nursery offers the best possible support for children with any specific needs. The SENCO also liaises with professionals and local schools to ensure smooth transitions from nursery to primary school.

Nursery Owners: Anika Hans & Raj Hans
Weydown Nursery and Preschool is proudly owned and Led by Anika and Raj, a dedicated husband and wife team who bring together a wealth of experience in both business and education.
Anika is a qualified teacher with a deep understanding of child development and a strong passion for early years education. She recognises the vital importance of the first five years in shaping a child's future and has been committed to creating an environment where every child feels valued, nurtured and inspired. Her teaching background ensures that the staff maintain a thoughtfully designed curriculum that is aligned with the EYFS and best practice. Accompanied by Raj and his extensive business expertise, ensuring the nursery runs to the highest of standards for all children, staff and families who join Weydown Nursery and Preschool!
