Here at Weydown Pre-School and Day Nursery we strive to provide outstanding care for our babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers to allow them to the best opportunity to grow, develop on their skills and knowledge and thrive. Most importantly we ensure they have lots of fun!

WEYDOWN’S APPROACH
We recognise how crucial the early years are in shaping a child’s development, and we strive to create a stimulating environment where every child can thrive. Our aim is to provide rich learning experiences that build on what children already know, encouraging them to gain new knowledge through first-hand exploration. Intellectual, social, and emotional development are at the heart of our teaching at Weydown Pre-School and Day Nursery, alongside ensuring that every child feels happy and enjoys their time with us. We draw on a range of established childcare theories, including the Reggio Emilia approach, to create a blended, modern practice inspired by the Curiosity Approach.

We understand the importance of helping children to settle into a new nursery environment, as well as ensuring each parent/caregiver is comfortable leaving their children with us. As such, we provide an environment that is safe, loving and stimulating which enables every child to feel happy, joyful and confident as they grow.
FULLY QUALIFIED STAFF
We have a small team of well-qualified, experienced and nurturing staff who all have a passion for childcare.
OPENING HOURS
We are open from 9am-6pm Monday to Friday for 50 weeks of the years, with the exception of Bank Holidays. We offer an earlier start if necessary, as well as half or full day sessions.
INSPIRED BY THE CURIOSITY APPROACH
At our nursery, we embrace a curiosity-led approach, encouraging children to explore, question, and discover at their own pace. By following each child’s interests and creating an engaging environment, we nurture confident, independent learners with a genuine love for learning whilst also embedding the EYFS Curriculum.

The safety and wellbeing of our children and staff is at the heart of everything we do. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers, supported by clear policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment.

I can not fault the Weydown Nursery setting. An outstanding nursery with an incredible amount of resources for the children and on top of that, knowledgable, friendly, welcoming staff. My son (15 months) struggled with the transition into nursery and the staff worked with my husband and I every step of the way to ensure he settled in well and now he is thriving. I can’t thank the staff enough, nothing is ever too much for them and they have made the process of the nursery transition so much more comfortable for us all.

Our daughter started at Weydown Nursery in January and since starting she has absolutely loved her time there! The staff are so friendly, caring and supportive and nothing is too much trouble. We have been really impressed with how well they have supported her through toilet training, changing rooms and her independence and confidence. She is always super excited and happy to go to nursery and that is down to the wonderful staff! I cannot recommend it enough.
